3 Things you can do to gain control of Temper Tantrums
HOW TO TACKLE THE TERRIBLE TWOS
More time than not, I have come across parents who feel their child is just out of control with the Terrible Twos. A lot of parents are finding it really hard to tackle their child's temper tantrums. In this post I shall be examining five simple ways a new and more veteran parent can tackle those terrible twos:
Here is a YouTube video that walks you through the Methods.
Walk away; Most often than not, children tend to throw tantrums just to get your attention. So walk away because once they notice the tantrums no longer have a hold on you, they will definitely stop.
Calming public tantrums; When a child has a meltdown in public, it can be very embarrassing. Once you notice the warning signs, calmly bring the child to a quiet place or leave the place. You can explain to the child why you had to do that.
Micro-snacks; Tantrums are stressed induced actions and some of the children experiencing a meltdown do throw tantrums because they are hungry. Snacks such as dried mangoes, fruit and granola bars are my favorite when it comes to calming meltdowns.
Have fun; Apply the principle of reward and punishment while trying to handle your terrible twos. Reward your child for every success achieved and punish them when they fail to do the right thing. They will learn better subsequently.
